In 1984, when Arthur Freyer was working his way up as a local video cameraman, he began to acquire used lighting and grip equipment when ever he could. Soon he became known as the "the guy with the lights". His personal philosophy was always to help others and to volunteer for the jobs that no one else wanted. This attitude rapidly put him in demand and launched Arthur Freyer Lighting.

In those days business was done completely on a hand shake and a verbal promise you could take to the bank. Times have changed, but none the less we still believe in those same principles: honest relations, a true commitment, and to volunteer for the jobs no one else wants to do.
